About Midnight
Midnight is a dark speed metal band from Cleveland, USA, founded in 2003 by Jamie Walters (aka Athenar). It is said to be a band, but in fact Midnight is just a one-man music project of Athenar. For Midnight, he is not only the guitarist, bassist, drummer, but also the band’s lead singer and songwriter. It can be said that Midnight is Athenar itself.
In terms of music, Athenar has made no secret of his passion for metal from the 1970s and 1980s such as Venom, Sodom, Crucifixion, and Motör-head, and is deeply inspired by them. Therefore, Midnight’s music combines speed metal, percussion metal, first wave black metal and punk rock on the traditional heavy metal framework. If Venom and Motörhead could meet one day and give birth to a child with NWOBHM melody, it would be like Midnight.
