THE BIRTH OF TECHNOMETAL

Born and raised in Italy, Paolo Ferrara’s musical journey began in his teenage years, when he found himself captivated by the contrasting worlds of heavy metal and electronic music. As a young man, he immersed himself in both genres, attending underground techno raves while headbanging at metal concerts. These dual passions laid the foundation for what would become his revolutionary sound.

The turning point came when Ferrara met Lorenzo Raganzini, a kindred spirit who shared his vision of uniting techno and metal. Together, they founded the HEX Techno Movement, a cultural phenomenon that has spanned five continents and redefined immersive musical experiences. HEX events became synonymous with high-energy performances, including iconic sets at Boiler Room, Tomorrowland, and Nature One Festival.

“I’ve always been a big fan of both techno and metal,” Paolo Ferrara explains.

“It was my dream to create a musical connection between these two powerful genres. When I met Lorenzo, I found someone who shared the same passion, and we turned that dream into reality. I am extremely grateful for this encounter with him and for 10 incredible years of HEX together.”

 CHART-TOPPING SUCCESS

Paolo Ferrara’s 2024 was a milestone year, with three tracks dominating Beatport’s Hard Techno Top 10: Last Resort (featuring a remix by Dennis Decay), Sweet Dreams, and Duality. Last Resort held the #1 spot for an entire month, a testament to his innovative sound and the universal appeal of TechnoMetal.

“It’s about creating music that moves people, that speaks to their emotions,” Ferrara notes. “Seeing my tracks resonate with so many is an incredible feeling.”
