科技与艺术的融合
会带来怎样的火花？
马克思曾经说过：“社会的进步就是人类对美的追求的结晶。”正是人类对美的向往与追求，推动着人类不断地完善自我、改造世界，这种力量无可估量。真、善、美三位一体不可分割，其中美是真和善的极致。
Marx once said: “The progress of society is the crystallization of human’s pursuit of beauty.” It is human’s yearning and pursuit of beauty that drives human beings to constantly improve themselves and transform the world. This power is immeasurable. The trinity of truth, goodness, and beauty are inseparable, and beauty is the culmination of truth and goodness.
艺术与科技看似是无甚关联的领域，但若纵观人类发展历史，我们便会发现艺术一直在伴随科技发展而演进。文艺复兴时期整个欧洲的科学研究又得到大力发展。列奥纳多·达·芬奇，可谓是将艺术实践和科学探索精神完美结合的典例。博物科研思维的持续传承也驱动了视觉与色彩理论等研究，在19世纪末应运而生的摄影技术，更是彻底改变了艺术家看待世界的方式。直至20世纪60年代，艺术家 Andy Warhol 创作手法中最为核心的丝网印刷技术，也是在借鉴20世纪60年代平面设计领域新兴技术的前提下得以完成。因此，西方在上个世纪70年代提出了“科技艺术”的概念。
Art and technology seem to be unrelated fields, but if we look at the history of human development, we will find that art has always been evolving with the development of technology. During the Renaissance, scientific research throughout Europe was vigorously developed. Leonardo da Vinci is a classic example of the perfect combination of artistic practice and scientific exploration. The continuing inheritance of the scientific research thinking has also driven the study of vision and color theory, and photography, which emerged at the end of the 19th century, has completely changed the way artists view the world. In the 1960s, the screen printing technology, the core of artist Andy Warhol’s creative techniques, was also completed on the premise of learning from the emerging technology in the field of graphic design in the 1960s. Therefore, the West put forward the concept of “Technology & Art” in the 1970s.

艺术想象力的无拘无束，为科技激发了更多可能性；反之，科技也为艺术提供了多样表达的可能。在今天，艺术与科技比以往任何时候都更加紧密相依。面对当下飞速发展的科技，艺术家们有着大量属于当代的媒介和新技术供他们选择——从3D打印技术到数字互动装置，再到新形态材料，虚拟现实等这些新技术指向无数可能，通过创作将人类感受力与数字世界连接在一起。
The unrestrained artistic imagination has stimulated more possibilities for technology; conversely, technology has also provided the possibility of various expressions for art. Today, art and technology are more closely intertwined than ever before. In the face of the rapid development of technology, artists have a large number of contemporary media and new technologies for them to choose – from 3D printing technology to digital interactive installations, to new forms of materials, virtual reality and other new technologies lead to countless possibilities. Creation connects human sensibility with the digital world.
本期创业周末分享会带您走进科技与艺术的世界，探索科技艺术的融合，探索创业者，艺术家，科学家、发明家、企业家等，如何打破边界，通过美学与互联网，数字制造，建筑，增强及虚拟现实等的融合，打造颠覆性的体验，改变我们生活方式及视角。帮助不同领域和工作人更好理解彼此、进行协作，以解决空间设计和城市规划所面临的挑战。
This seminar of Startup Weekend will take you into the world of technology and art, discover the integration of technology and art, and explore how startups, artists, scientists, inventors and entrepreneurs can break the boundaries, through aesthetics and the Internet, digital manufacturing, architecture and the fusion of augmented and virtual reality to create subversive experiences and change our way of life and perspective. This offline seminar takes the buzz word “Technology & Fashion” as the entry point, and invites international fashion designer Agnes Bao and Assistant Professor An Pengcheng of the School of Innovation and Design of SUS Tech to discuss on the spot what kind of sparks will collide when technology and art meet, and achieve cross-border integration to promote social development and change our lives. An Pengcheng
An is a researcher and educator in the field of design and human-computer interaction (HCI). Professor An’s research focuses on the design and impact of emerging intelligent interactive systems indaily scenarios, including IoT environments (such as smart classrooms or offices) and concrete multimodal user interfaces.
Professor An’s research has been published and awarded in many of the top academic journals in the field of human-computer interaction. He hasalso served as the organizer or reviewer of several international conferences and the review editor of several journals.
