Ocean Quintet
Drums Liu Haiyang
Liu is currently the drummer of Hidden Art Group and of Golden Jazz Youth Big Band. He studied jazz drumming with a group of excellent jazz drum musicians including Nie Xin, Shao Haha, Wu Chusui, etc.. His sensitive auditory senses gift him with precise musical feelings and various subtle ways of control. He is good at Jazz, Funk, Soul, Pop and other styles of music, and has received praise from jazz drumming masters Jim White, Billy Drummond, and Swedish national treasure pianist Stefan Karlsson.
Guitar Li Weile
Li is a talented jazz guitarist who has extensive performance experiences in major venues in Beijing. He focuses on musical virtuosity, has a flexible and versatile style of processing sounds. He is familiar with the arrangement and performance of electro-acoustic instruments. He started his on-stage experience since college and has received multiple awards.
Keyboard Cen Juncai
Cen graduated from Department of Modern Music at Xinghai Conservatory of Music, majoring in Jazz Piano under the tutelage of new Lingnan musician Lin Chang. Projects he was involved in as a keyboardist include We Do Jazz Orchestra, GSO Jazz Orchestra, Urban Jazz Band of City Investment Group, Unknown Funk, Rhythm Air and the third season of Guangdong TV’S hit program “Flowing Songs”.
Bass Li Duyu
Li has performed at famous venues in Beijing such as Jianghu, The Bricks and DDC, etc.. In 2018, he participated in the recording of Li Weile’s original album “Blossom in Bloom”; in 2019, he performed at the Embassy of Netherlands and of Luxembourg; in 2020, he participated in the touring of Leegof.
Vocal Zhang Siming
Zhang studied choral and vocal music since childhood, she enjoys listening to gospel, city pop and jazz with a love for quirky melodies and complex harmonies. More than a decade of experience in harmony, recording, and live performance with big bands has given her a deep understanding of the handling of a wide range of musical styles.
