The original meaning of front-drive is the pioneer who guides the development of things. Front-wheel drive cars are not easy to drift. As a series of activities, “Forerunner Drift” aims to explore and visit and invite pioneers who have tried and worked hard for the local music scene, trace some traces, help people to re-understand and constantly remind ourselves: electronic music in China is either not acclimatized or not. In the years of the golden and silver era, these precursors have also drifted and drawn beautiful cornering arcs on different tracks. Shenzhen’s dance floor culture and electronic music scene may also be traced back to the late 1990s. There is a lot of history that can be excavated and discussed, but we have found a few people who are still living in Shenzhen in the first issue of “Pioneer Drift” this time. DJ, telling and showing what the Shenzhen music scene was like in the years before OIL opened in 2017.
