Sousell was born in a Chinese art family, and his mother was a violinist. She learned piano at the age of four and began performing on stage at the age of eight. He studied vocal music (bel canto) at the age of twelve, and already showed his extraordinary musical talent and intelligent nature in his youth.
Sousell has studied under many famous jazz musicians. Charenee Wade, a jazz musician, jazz singer, composer, and educator from New York, Tina May, a famous jazz actress from the United Kingdom, Cyrille Ammie, a famous French jazz singer, Victor Goines, a saxophonist with the Lincoln Center Big Band in New York, and many jazz players from the United States and Canada Master and educator.
In 2019, she collaborated with New York Lincoln Center big band saxophonist Walter Blanding and recorded a duet album. In the same year, Sousell went to London to record an album with the famous British jazz guitarist Ofer Landsberg. Sousell recorded a quartet album in New York at the end of 2019. Jerome Jennings, professor of the Juilliard School of Music and conductor of the Juilliard Jazz Orchestra, was the album producer and drummer, Willerm Delisfort, the top New York jazz pianist, was the pianist, and Dezron Douglas was the bass player.
In 2022, Sousell’s new EP album will be officially released by JZ MUSIC and Taihe Wheatfield. The album’s tracks are composed by Sousell and joined hands with Chinese contemporary jazz pianist Tian Tian and Korean Bass player Joseph Han to sing “Immortal Love” “.
Trumpet｜Luo Mopeng
Luo Mopeng, like most jazz musicians, studied classical music since he was a child. At the age of 15, he studied with Chinese jazz pianist and educator Zheng Yuxing, and thus began to embark on the road of jazz.
From 2020 to 2023, he will study jazz music at the Krakow Conservatory of Music in Poland, under the tutelage of the famous Polish jazz trumpet player, educator, and composer Dr. Tomasz Kudyk, and then study jazz with the famous Dutch jazz musician Rik Mol.
He once went to the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music in the United States to study jazz trumpet, under the tutelage of American professor Scott Belck. During his stay in the United States, he joined the Blue Note band directed by the famous American jazz trombonist Marc Fields as a trumpet player. He was praised by the American trumpet player Pete Clagett for “playing like jazz trumpet player Lee Morgan”.
