As one of the most active jazz musicians in Shenzhen at the moment, his musical enlightenment began when he overheard his mother buying Louis Armstrong’s records when he was in elementary school. In 2013, he graduated from the Guitar Department of the Modern Music Department of Tianjin Conservatory of Music. Because of his immense love for jazz, he resolutely gave up his job in 2016 and began his career as a professional musician. He has studied with many famous jazz musicians, such as Gu Zhongshan, Yotam Silberstein, Tommy Ho, Romain Pilon, etc. In the process of cooperating with many musicians, he has developed his ability to pay great attention to the overall coordination of the band, which makes his playing full of space.

Jazz drummer and R&B independent musician, he studied at San Jose State University and later transferred to The Collective School of Music in New York. While in school, he studied Contemporary Jazz and Contemporary Music with professors Ian Froman and Marko Djordjevic from Berklee College of Music and TC Conservatory of Music, and was called the most improved student by professor Ian Froman. Outside the school, he studied jazz performance, Jazz Drumming Mechanics and jazz drum education theory under the famous New York jazz player, composer and educator Kendrick Scott.

Jochen Rueckert started leading his own quartet in 2011: playing his original music together with Seamus Blake, Mike Moreno and Matt Penman. As a highly creative saxophonist, Seamus Blake is recognized as one of the best saxophonists in contemporary jazz. He once won first place in the Thelonious Monk International Saxophone Competition, which is the most prestigious in the jazz industry. His music is known for its complex structures, bold improvisations and “pure swing”. Guitarist Mike Moreno’s “Downbeat” calls him: “One of the most watched guitarists today.” Bassist Matt Penman hails from New Zealand and is a member of the SFJazz Collective, an eight-member composer collective dedicated to showcasing its members’ original compositions as well as the oeuvres of jazz greats.

Pianist Wen Bochao graduated from Shenzhen University majoring in jazz piano performance. He studied under the famous Chinese jazz pianist Li Lin and serves as the keyboardist of the Shenzhen local jazz band TPS Quintet. In the past five years, he has focused on jazz performance and creation, and has been active on major jazz and modern music stages.
Bassist Shao Xuan, a 2016 Jazz Bass student from the Faculty of Arts of Shenzhen University, studied under Wang Xubo and held a special concert in the Concert Hall of Shenzhen University Normal College in 2017. In 2017, he was invited to participate in the performance of “Beautiful Sunday” at the Shenzhen Concert Hall. In 2018, he was invited by Zhuhai Sir Kim to go to Zhuhai to hold an exchange concert with Sir Kim’s teachers and students. On January 1, 2019, he participated in the Southern Science and Technology Welcome New Year’s Eve party, invited to perform at Guangzhou JZ CLUB on August 16, 2019.
