Jazz pianist Zheng Haorong Trio

Zheng Haorong has been influenced by the ⺠ musical family since he was a child and revealed his musical talent. At the age of 5, she learned pipa with her grandmother, Ms. Zhuang Huilin, a pipa player from the Shanghai Minority Orchestra, and her uncle, Mr. Zhuang Yongping, a famous pipa player and educator. At the age of 14, he became very interested in jazz music and went to Beijing to study alone. During his studies, he was admired by Italian jazz pianist Moreno Donadel and grew rapidly under his help and guidance. In 2010, he was invited by his teacher to perform in the concert of the Moreno Donaldel Trio at the Beijing Jiuhou International Jazz Festival, which left a deep impression on the audience.

In 2012, he went to Berklee College of Music (Berklee College of Music) as a full-scholarship recipient for the summer program. During his studies at Berklee College of Music in the United States, he was deeply loved and appreciated by the famous jazz pianist Joanne Brackeen and was brought under his command. Since then, the two have maintained close communication. In 2013, he founded The HR Project independent music brand and has performed many tours in the United States and China to participate in performances & tours. Since 2019, he has served as Yi Yang Qianxi, and Mao Buyi has been a keyboard player.

Zhao Lu, a young saxophonist who graduated from the Department of Modern Music of Tianjin Conservatory of Music with a bachelor’s degree, studied under the tutelage of Lu Tingquan, a well-known saxophonist and educator in my country, and systematically studied the performance of traditional jazz. He graduated from the Jazz Department of the Copeland School of Music at Queen’s College in New York with a master’s degree, and studied under the internationally renowned jazz master Antonio Hart. He also served as the school’s chief saxophone during school. He was once invited to be the accompaniment guest of the popular group of the 2013 Young Singer Grand Prix, and the accompaniment guest of the Hu Yanbin group of the all-around Star Wars entertainment show. At the same time, he is also a saxophone player in the tenor of the Universal Youth Hotel, and is active in major music festivals and performances all year round.

Studied in Jazz and Improvisation (trumpet) at Victoria College of Art, the only Chinese student in that class. Under the tutelage of Eugene ball, winner of Australia’s Best Jazz Album in 2008, learning rhythm with national treasure drummer David jones, pianist Andrea Keller, guitarist Ashley Cross learning jazz theory and composition, and singer Suuny Kim learning Yin Yang theory and Tai Chi. During school, he performed with his own quartet across Melbourne, participated in the Asian Music Roundtable as a student representative, and performed Aboriginal music “Two birds one from Australia one from Korea” with the Australian Arts Orchestra (AAO). Compared to other trumpet players, Zizhi’s tone is softer. While focusing on rhythm, singing is the musical element he cares most about.
