This concert is performed by the world-renowned violinist Lu Siqing and the Meijie New Youth Orchestra. Lu Siqing plays the role of violin soloist and conductor at the same time. He directs and performs by himself, and cooperates closely with every performer in the chamber orchestra to present a wonderful musical feast.
Both are classic pieces of chamber music, Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons” and Piazzolla’s “Four Seasons of Buenos Aires” are often played together, collectively called “Eight Seasons”. The two pieces represent the four seasons of the northern and southern hemispheres, and the continuous performance of 16 movements. Starting from “Spring”, the audience follows the musician’s performance through seasons after seasons, changing and renewing everything, and finally returning to the “Spring” means that the cycle of annual rings and years will start again, and a new cycle will start again. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Piazzolla’s birth, “Four Seasons of Buenos Aires”, as one of his representative tracks, is a tribute to Vivaldi’s classic “Four Seasons”. While full of commemorative significance, it can also allow the audience to experience two completely different styles of the four seasons in one concert.

Lu Siqing has cooperated with many outstanding conductors in the world and China, such as Lorraine Maazel, Valery Gergiev, Edouard Dewart, Vladimir Ashkenazi, Yu Long , Tan Dun, etc. He has also cooperated with many internationally renowned orchestras, including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, China National Center for the Performing Arts Orchestra, China Symphony Orchestra, etc.
While frequently participating in performances at music festivals around the world, Lu Siqing has also served as the artistic director of the “May Music Festival” of the National Center for the Performing Arts of China for many years. He has also been invited to serve as a judge of Yehudi Menuhin International Youth Violin Competition, Shanghai Stern International Violin Competition and other international music competitions. Lu Siqing also founded “Lu Siqing·Shenzhen Futian International String Music Week”. From 2021, Lu Siqing will be invited to be the founding principal of Yehudi Menuhin School in Qingdao. As a student of Master Menuhin, he will be in charge of the only overseas school of the Menuhin School, which has achieved a successful art story.
Lu Siqing is currently using a 1751 Guadagnini violin provided by the Yu Foundation.
