CHILL OUT JAZZ 6/10
The term Chill-out originated in 1989 in a specific area of a London Club known as “The White Room”. The space was used as a relaxing area for DJs stepping off from the fast-paced main stage. After the mid-90s, this kind of music gained more attention from DJs who started creating mixes using samples from genres including jazz, classical, and even new-age music. The phenomenon attracted great interest in the genre from the public and record labels.
In the field of jazz music, the emergence of Fusion opened a space for Chill-Out Jazz, just as a summer night of jazz music needs a cool breeze.

Chen Ou Quartet
Saxophone: Chen Ou
Chen Ou started studying classical saxophone at the Odessa National A.V. Nezhdanova Academy of Music and taught himself jazz performance in 2001. In 2007, he graduated with a master’s degree in saxophone as the highest-ranking graduate in the Wind Department and also as a former member of the Odessa Youth Jazz Big Band. After returning to China, he devoted himself to the education, and performance of jazz music. Chen was the first signed Chinese artist for P.Mauriat and was rewarded with an Award of Excellence in the Leopold Bellan International Music Competition. He is long active in the jazz scene throughout the Pearl River Delta. In 2019, he released his first solo original album Seagull. ”
Keyboard: Zuo Liang
Zuo graduated from the 17th class of Jazz Piano Major in Institute of Modern Music and Drama, Xinghai Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of Professor Lin Geng and Professor Deng Yameng, and under the guidance of famous jazz pianist Franz Von chossy.
Bass: Ouyang Weijie
Ouyang is a current student pursuing a Bass Major at Xinghai Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of double bass and electric bass artist Wang Xubo. He plays with a wide range of styles and has been active throughout the Pearl River Delta, specializing in electronic jazz, R&B and traditional jazz.
Drums: Li Yingming
Currently studying at the Institute of Modern Music and Drama, Xinghai Conservatory of Music， Li studies with the famous percussionist Fu Xingbang and Professor Rick Dior at the University Of North Carolina At Charlotte. He specializes in a variety of styles with extensive performance experience.

2.Show starts at 21:30, lasts around 120 minutes, with a 15-minute intermission; available to enter from 20:00, please arrive at the venue half an hour before the show and will be greeted by our colleague at the door; we will save your seats until 22:30
