Life on Mars Advent Calendar

It’s that time of year again! The snow is erm… not falling because its sub tropical, the Christmas decorations are going up and I’m sure we are all eagerly writing “Finish 0 Covid” on top of our present wishlist to Santa to be mailed off to the north pole.
Each year at Life on Mars we have a tradition we keep to, rooted in one of the core beliefs of our bar, which is that everyone should be introduced to and get to explore as much of the weird and wonderful world of alcohol and flavour as possible. Because of this, we try to use as many interesting flavours and ingredients from around the world as possible, and also because of this each year we construct our LoM Advent calendar, fill each day with a shot of a different alcohol that we think is worthy of trying and then hand them out for free to one lucky customer each day!
For those who don’t know or don’t have the tradition in their home country, an advent calender is usually a skinny cardboard box you hang on your wall with a christmas themed illustration on. The front is covered in 25 little doors for the 25 days of December leading up to Christmas day and you open each one on the corresponding day. Each door hides behind it a little treat, usually a small chocolate for the kids, but seem as we have grown a little past that at Life on Mars we have a different alcohol on each day for you to try. Each alcohol is a good one in our books, but some days are luckier than others, one day you could get an interesting Gin or Italian Liqueur, some days will have an expensive sipping alcohol! Oh and it’s completely random which days have which alcohol, so don’t think if you come on Christmas day or a weekend that you will be guaranteed the most expensive booze, we like to reward our weekday customers too you know 😉
