The Comrades Blues Band is a band that is full of energy and has a blend of multinational styles. Their music style is mainly influenced by Root Blues, exuding the charm of traditional blues and the passion of avant-garde modernity. The band members include singer and guitarist Nish a, guitarist Tao Jiabin, bassist Igor, harmonica player He Xueming, and drummer Su Zhengyu. With their passionate and energetic live performances and unique interpretation of the Blues style, they have won the love and dance of many fans.
Guitar/Singer: Nisha
Blues rock guitarist/singer from Sri Lanka. Has been playing with various bands in different parts of the world for the past 20+ years. Before moving to China, Nisha spent 4 years in South Africa, touring and playing with the region’s top musicians.
Guitar: Tao Jiabin
Deeply influenced by guitar masters such as Jim Hall and Je Pass, he developed a strong interest in jazz and systematically learned jazz guitar from Mr. Cai Jian. In 2014, he won the championship of the 5th Panyu “Woodstock Music Festival”. Later, he received further training under the guidance of Japanese guitar teacher Sarashiro Iwatani, Italian jazz guitar GiGi, Hong Kong guitarist David Tong and others. In 2019, he served as the guitarist for Liuzhe’s “Different Me” national tour concert. Currently, he is the guitarist in the recording studio of Aigao Culture Company.
Harmonica: He Xueming
Blues harmonica player, founder of Guangzhou “Blue Yue Harmonica”, planner of Guangzhou Harmonica Carnival, third place in the national harmonica competition. Because of my love for blues harmonica, I fell in love with blues music. His harmonica sound has traditional blues tones, wild electric harmonica tension, and swinging rhythms. Life is like blues, everything is unknown and improvised. He carries his harmonica with him and improvises for life. Are you ready to rock with him?
Bass: Igor
Igor, who was born and raised in Russia, is a professional bassist. He began listening to music at the age of 5 and began studying at the Tchaikovsky School at the age of 9. 22 years ago, Igor came to Beijing from Russia to start his musical journey. From Beijing to Guangzhou, Igor has performed in various jazz bars, and started to organize the first big band in Guangzhou with musicians from various countries in Guangzhou at the local bar Blue Note. He is a veteran player in the Guangzhou jazz circle.
Drum: Su Zhengyu
Perhaps because he grew up around stereos, Su Zhengyu fell in love with music unknowingly. After trying several instruments, I finally started learning drums at the age of fourteen. After years of studying, he had no favorite genre of music. However, trying his best to play and enjoy all kinds of music is the only good thing he wants to do now. DJ: CHUNJIT
In 2016, I started to get into electronic music and taught myself how to DJ. The live music styles are mainly House, Jazz, Funk, HipHop, Electronic and R&B. In 2017, he was invited to serve as the support DJ for the Shenzhen Le Du Juan White Hot Experiment; in 2018, he was selected to serve as the support DJ on the main stage of Shenzhen EMP Made in China; in the same year, he performed for the opening of Shenzhen original design brand ROARINGWILD.
