Improvisational Playback Theatre by Couch Potatoes @ Nan Tou City – Nanshan

On October 22,  we invite you for a night of sharing, connecting, and witnessing. Any audience member is welcome to volunteer to share moments from your life. Then, performers will ” play back ” the emotional essence of what is shared — in movement, sound, words, and music. The stories from the audience determine the content of the show and inspire us in our enactments.

Playback theatre is an original, interactive form of improvisational theatre. In response to stories and experiences from the audience, our performers and the musician make on-the-spot theatre.

Every experience is ‘played back’ to the teller and the audience in an intuitive, artistic way. We do this empathically, respectfully, and without judgment. Don’t be alarmed by the interactivity: no one is required to share anything and all is welcome.
