Tenor Saxophone: Lucas Gabric

Former preparatory saxophone teacher at The Juilliard School of Music, lecturer in music history at the City University of New York , double doctorate in performance and musicology at the two schools.

As a performer, he has performed in music festivals and important venues in more than ten countries, such as the Blue Note in New York, the Elbphilharmonie in Germany, the Turin Music Festival in Italy, the Nagiconi Rao Jazz Festival in Hungary, and the Latin American Memorial in Brazil. , Seoul Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism in South Korea, Steinway House in Beijing, China, etc. In the recording of more than ten albums, Bermel’s “Migrations” was nominated for the 2020 Grammy Award, and the 2019 solo album “Labor of Love” topped Apple Music’s Austrian jazz sales chart. The new album “Double Standard” in 2022 was released in March Global distribution.

Famous bands performing on the same stage include the North German Radio Big Band (lead), and jazz masters include Wynton Marsalis, Carl Allen, Steve Nelson, etc.

He has been reported and interviewed by more than 30 mainstream media in the world, such as the New York Times, Canadian Jazz Radio, Austrian National Radio, British Jazz Magazine, South German Daily, and the Swiss Thurgau Culture Magazine. He has won more than ten awards, such as the American ASCAP Sir Herb Albert Young Composer Award, the Austrian Municipal Government Bruno Gironcoli Cultural Award, the Spanish Getxo Jazz Festival Best Soloist Award and the Audience Award, etc.

As an educator, he has published more than ten jazz textbooks, “The Rhythm Changes Guide” has sold nearly 2,000 copies. The universities that have held master classes and lectures include the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music in the United States, the Vienna University of Economics in Austria, the Mongolian National Conservatory of Music, and the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory of Music in Turin, Italy. His academic papers are also published in journals in English and German respectively. As the founder of the International Jazz Festival in Carinthia, Austria, the competition attracts participants from more than 40 countries around the world every year.

Piano/Piano: Deng Yameng

Young Chinese jazz pianist, composer, and jazz piano teacher at Xinghai Conservatory of Music. Graduated from the Department of Modern Music, Guangzhou Xinghai Conservatory of Music, majoring in jazz performance, he studied jazz piano performance and theoretical knowledge from Mr. Benoit Stasiaczyk (Peng Xiaobo), a famous jazz percussionist/composer and director of the Department of Modern Instrumental Music. During his school days, he achieved excellent results. He represented the school in the 2nd China (Shanghai) Jazz Competition in 2014, and won the Gold Award for Jazz Piano Solo and the Best Original Composition Award. The band Mr.Poo won the Team Silver Award.

In September 2015, he went to the Royal Conservatory of Music in Brussels, Belgium for further study and obtained a master’s degree in jazz piano performance. He studied with Belgian jazz pianists Diederik Wissels and Nathalie Loriers, and studied Latin music with Latin pianist Peter Van Marle. Guided by masters such as Shai Maestro. In 2016, he won the third place in the European International Jazz Competition in Italy. In 2017, he received the full prize money of the Summer Jazz Master Class. He has performed at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Music Village and Sounds Jazz Club many times. His solo jazz album “Take Your Time” was released in October 2017.

Bass/Double Bass: Park Jong-moon

Park Jong-moon, bass player, educator, and instructor of Jazz King’s bass and theory courses. She studied jazz at Dongduk women’s university master dgree. He has accumulated a wealth of performance experience as early as when he was a graduate student in bass. He also has rich experience in teaching jazz and modern music, and has compiled his own bass textbook.

During the show, Jongmoon is very focused on the coordination with the band members and the cohesion of the harmony. In the process of collaborating with many outstanding musicians, he has developed excellent technique and harmony ability, which will also be reflected in his own performances.

Drums/Drums: Nie Xin

Young Chinese jazz drummer and educator. Chinese Hanqi drum stick, Gentleman drum endorsement artist. Co-founder of King Jazz, President/Music Director of the Gold Jazz Orchestra (GJO). Zhuhai [Hengqin Jazz Week] initiator and artistic director. Bachelor of Ethnic Percussion from Guangzhou Xinghai Conservatory of Music, Master of Jazz Percussion from University of Texas at Arlington. From 2013 to 2014, he was a jazz drum teacher in the Modern Music Department of Guangzhou Xinghai Conservatory of Music. In 2015, he was invited to tour Italy and performed live on the Italian National Radio Recording (RAI). The music project he participated in, [Cross Music] won the honor of the Ministry of Culture’s 2018 “Belt and Road” cultural and trade key investment project, and took the [Cross Music] Orchestra to Texas, Cincinna and other places for tours, and was founded in the same year. Zhuhai’s first big jazz orchestra, the Golden Jazz Orchestra, has so far held a number of important large-scale performances, with performances in major music festivals and theaters in China.

In 2017, he established and participated in the key cultural project of Jazz King – [Span Music] The creation and recording of Chinese opera and jazz, and took the [Span Music] Orchestra to Texas, Cincinna and other places for tours. This project was awarded the 2018 National Ministry of Culture. “One Belt, One Road” – “Cultural and Trade Key Investment Project” award. Has performed or recorded with the world’s top jazz musicians in jazz performance, such as Bobby Shew, Antonio Hart, Terell Stafford, Dick Oatts, Fareed Haque, Stefan Karlsson, Richard Sussman, Mike Pope, Alessio Menconi, Gabrielle Goodman , Drew Zaremba, atiana “LadyMay” Mayfield, Sergio Pamies, Olivier Hutman, Maxim Lubarsky, etc.
