Guifu , a band from Hangzhou, is also one of the few successful math rock bands in mainland China. It consists of four students from the Academy of Fine Arts, vocal and synthesizer Wang Yixuan, bassist Deng Zezhuan, drummer Gong Xiao, and guitarist Zhang Yiyang.
Ghost no GriffO, from the abbreviation of Griffonage, meaning scribbled doctor’s prescription. Just like their initial state of writing songs, they are imaginative and not limited by logic. Every song of Guifu will have its own “composition”, like doing academic research, almost paranoid writing, overturning, rewriting, overturning… until it is scribbled in place.
Unlike many people who play music, music is not all the members of Guifu, but more like a new thing to tinker with after school and work. Of course, they take their music seriously enough. From students to work, the life of this group of slash youth continues, and their music never stops.
In 2014, they independently released their first EP “Shenyou King”, and the cumulative number of singles has now exceeded one million.
