Exhibition Preview | “Transformation” Marko Stupar Solo Exhibition

The SE Gallery will be honoured to launch the solo exhibition “Transformation” by artist Marko Stupar from June 11 to July 11, 2022, which will focus on the series of illustrations created by the artist in recent years. This is Marko’s first exhibition in China.
Foreword
Art can be made in an infinite number of ways, but at the same time, we are always limited by our thoughts, doubts, knowledge, techniques, lack of inspiration, and our personal unique problems… It is us who choose whether we will use those problems and negative thoughts and transform them into creative energy, or let them bother us… or even destroy us.
Art, in this case, visual art, is a language that we use to express our ideas, thoughts, and emotions, to question or critique things within us or outside of us, to imagine, to communicate, to ask, to propose, to criticize or to record, to show or to hide, and all other things that make us human, that is often ignored or forgotten in this modern life but is essential to our existence. What makes this language unique is the immediate effect it has on a viewer, and if it is successful, a long-lasting effect that changes something within that person.
Marko uses art in many different ways, including those already mentioned above. He is interested in all art forms, and from his experience, the key element that unites all art is pure, raw energy, an impulse we all have. It starts from abstract impulses and forms consciously or subconsciously into its final form… or sometimes it just stays in its initial form, as it does in for example “action painting”.
For Marko, the nature of art is allow him to overcome barriers everyday conversation can have, and directly strike the point, shifting viewers’ reality and relocating them to a different dimension. In this recent period, he was focused on the transformation of unrestrained, pure energy, into ideas and creations, with high psychological and practical value, a transformation through release, and depression of thoughts into specific, formed messages that were used to communicate and stimulate viewers imagination.
