EPISTROPHY Jazz Quintet @ Penny Black Jazz Club – Nanshan

April 5 @ 9:30 pm 11:59 pm

EPISTROPHY | Quintet We can no longer find another Thelonius Monk in the history of jazz – he has been active since the Bebop era and has created countless incomprehensible wonders in his music career spanning nearly three decades:The unexpected geometric language in his performance, and the harmonic aesthetics in his creation that are rooted in the traditional Bebop style but also imply futurism, have taken root deeply in the fertile soil of jazz, nourishing countless generations for hundreds of years to come. musicians.
This time, five young jazz musicians from Guangdong will try to use their greatest enthusiasm to express their tribute to this great maverick jazz musician by arranging and performing Monk’s classic pieces.
