About ‘Morricone: The Master’ (5/3 screening)

Director Giuseppe Tornatore did not forget that ‘Paradise Cinema’ has a transcendent gratitude for the beautiful music created by Morricone for it

Morricone seemed to remember every note he had created until the end of his life. Music historians should also feel fortunate because Tornatore has always been by his side, capturing him at full speed

No other film score composer has been able to combine classical overtures and music into such a memorable and immediately recognizable sound, nor has any film score composer had such a significant impact on a wider pop culture, only Ennio Morricone. He composed music for movies such as “The Good Guy,” “One Fist Dollar,” and “The West,” which influenced many country rock singers such as Nick Cave, Radio Commander, Metallica, Muse, and more
For over sixty years, over 500 pieces of music have deepened his legend with every whip, whistle, and war cry. From the Italian Western film ‘The Dollar Trilogy’ to the gangster film ‘The Dalits’, and to the art epic’ The Cinema Paradise ‘, his soundtrack often surpasses the film itself, ENNIO MORRICONE

He achieved many accomplishments in his life, but had very little drama. Apart from the difficulty in obtaining respect and recognition from his teachers at the Saint Cecilia Conservatory in Rome, there is almost nothing that can be called the narrative thread of Morricone’s story. Instead, a group of conversation leaders, including Bruce Springsteen, Quentin, Bernardo Bertolucci, and contemporary Italian composers, were effortlessly praising Morricone in the documentary, while the master himself provided a more detailed overview of the behind many of his most famous works

In the 1960s, there was a great revolution in Italian pop music and a bold upheaval in film music, especially when Morricone was asked to rewrite certain content or found that the soundtrack of the movie was not entirely the canvas he needed to deal with alone. His understanding of this uncompromising artistic mindset was invaluable and inspiring. In ‘Ennio: The Maestro’, more of Morricone’s frankness is captured
