 On April 30, we invited saxophonist Yuan Haoxuan who graduated from Berklee College of Music, famous Chinese bassist Zhang Ke, Xi’an Conservatory of Music guitar teacher Zhang Boyuan, Xi’an’s famous jazz drummer Wu Xueqi, and Meeting Jazz founder Dong Yao, for We will bring you a century-old jazz classics and some original songs.

He studied classical piano since he was a child, and later studied bel canto and was admitted to the Xi’an Conservatory of Music, where he began to be exposed to jazz music. He actively participated in jam sessions among local jazz musicians and was deeply influenced by the strong jazz music environment.

After graduation, he devoted himself to the study of drama and musical theater. He studied at HfM Dresden Conservatoire (HfM Dresden) and HfM Hanns Eisner Berlin (HfM Hanns Eisner Berlin). During his study in Europe, he was inspired by European jazz music. With my passion for jazz music for many years, I began to officially choose to study jazz music, and actively participated in jazz music work shop and jam activities at the local music college. In 2019, he traveled and participated in the master class of the Berklee College of Music Summer Jazz Festival and the Anaheim Jazz Festival. Under the recommendation of a local jazz musician in New York, he studied with the famous Chinese jazz musician Chen Xuanyu.

Years of studying classical music, being influenced by jazz music, and later studying drama majors have given him solid basic skills, proficient control capabilities, and delicate and unique insights in music and language arts. Over the years, he has performed on the same stage with famous domestic and foreign jazz musicians many times. Now he is active on various jazz stages as a professional musician. Modern music scene. and leads his own quartet.

Zhang Boyuan, guitar teacher at Xi’an Conservatory of Music, is a jazz guitarist with a rock and roll attitude in his heart. He graduated from Nanjing University of the Arts with a bachelor’s degree in electric guitar. He not only joined the punk band Old Doll in 2008 and formed Super Speed ​​Youth in 2013, but he also particularly likes to take risks in different music types such as blues and jazz. In response to the increasing accumulation and continuous self-renovation, Zhang Boyuan and his jazz quartet are often active in jazz performances in Xi’an. In July 2016, he served as the opening guest for the master class of American fusion jazz drum master Dennis Chambers; in August 2016, Meeting Jazz Festival Jazz Xi’an Music Festival, the musicians on the same stage include Jamie Stewardson, Alexei Tsiganov, Xia Jia, Gao Taihang, Zhang Ke and other well-known jazz musicians at home and abroad.
